Community Guidelines

Standards for safer conversations, groups and shared content.

Respect people everywhere

These rules apply to profiles, messages, files, groups, meetings and public posts. Do not harass, bully, threaten, stalk or encourage violence. Do not attack people based on protected characteristics, incite hatred or promote violent organizations.

No impersonation, fraud or spam

Do not impersonate people, support staff or institutions; steal credentials; run investment or giveaway scams; spread phishing links or malware; mass-message unsolicited advertising; manipulate rewards; or coordinate deceptive or abusive groups. A wallet address or successful transaction does not prove trustworthiness.

Protect privacy and ownership

Do not disclose someone's private information, intimate material, documents, location or credentials without lawful permission. Do not distribute copyrighted content you are not entitled to share. Obtain consent before recording or sharing calls/meetings where required. Do not upload illegal goods, services or instructions facilitating unlawful harm.

Zero tolerance for child exploitation

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of children and child trafficking are strictly prohibited. Do not send or upload suspected illegal imagery as evidence. Report identifying references and context privately through Child Safety or Support. See /child-safety.

Report and block

Use the app's reporting entry or the Support form to report a message, user or group; include IDs or a link, a reason and relevant context, not secret or illegal material. You may also email [email protected]. Block unwanted contacts using the contact/profile controls. Blocking does not itself submit a moderation report, and a report is not a substitute for blocking.

Web reports receive a private status code. The moderation team can review, request more information and take action using existing administrative account, group and content controls. Appeals can be submitted through Support with the original reference. Do not file malicious or knowingly false reports.

Actions and urgent danger

Depending on evidence and severity, we may remove or restrict content, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts/groups, preserve necessary evidence and report to competent authorities as required. We prioritize threats and child-safety reports. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services; CowTalk is not an emergency response service.
